Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell with Northern Regional College’s Alan Reid, Curriculum Manager responsible for the Connected programme, examining NRC’s new Universal Robot and Robotiq Gripper, supplied by RA Rodriguez at a Stormont event “Further Education – Key Driver of the NI economy.”
NRC has invested heavily in industrial robotics over the past 8 years, delivering courses aimed at giving students access to robotics used in the industrial world as well as delivering bespoke training programmes to industry. The Minister was using one of the colleges robots which is classed as a collaborative robot allowing for portability and multi-use applications within an engineering environment. Caterpillar were in attendance at the event as one of the many companies that NRC have developed training courses for specific to the company’s manufacturing needs.
