Real-time Robot Guidance

No jigs. No downtime.

GuideNOW from Inbolt is a real-time, plug-and-play 3D vision system for robot guidance, accessible to anyone and easy to set up. The solution is capable of real-time data processing, maintaining productivity on moving assembly lines. With robust 3D vision, GuideNOW performs reliably in all lighting conditions.

Key Benefits:

  • No jigs or fixed tooling required
  • Works in all environments (structured & unstructured)
  • Reduces automation complexity & cycle time
  • Easy set up
  • Fully compatible with Universal Robots

How It Works

  1. Set up: Mount camera, import CAD model, configure in GuideNOW Studio
  2. Detection: Camera scans part, AI determines position
  3. Adjustment: Robot trajectory updates in real-time

Two Modes:

  • Dynamic: Continuous trajectory updates for moving parts
  • Static: Position reference update for fixed parts

Inbolt Robot Guidance - what's included.

Benefits of Robot Guidance

  1. Reduces automation costs. By reducing the need for custom jigs and indexing tooling, manufacturing processes can become more efficient and cost-effective.
  2. Reduces programming time. GuideNOW can be set up in less than 30 minutes. The user can train every new reference themselves.
  3. Improves line productivity. GuideNOW guidance is real-time while other solutions take several seconds per positioning.
  4. Improves quality. The adaptation of the robot trajectory prevents collisions with the part or the execution of processes in the wrong place.

Application Example: Tightening on a Moving Engine

Inbolt demonstrated that GuideNOW’s core technology is able to track the position and orientation of the engine in real-time by comparing its CAD model to the 3D data sent by a 3D camera mounted on the robot. GuideNOW then adapts the robot’s trajectory to the position of the engine, accurate to 1 mm.
